Ocean Art and an announcement

5 x 7 Sea Paper

There’s something about water that draws us in and fascinates us. There are approximately 332.5 million cubic miles of water on Earth. Water covers more than 70 percent of Earth’s surface. As humans we long to find peace and tranquility. So where do we usually go, to the water. It might be as simple as a fountain in the garden, exploring the sea with an air tank and fins, a boat ride, or a beach vacation. For me, the water has always brought a great sense of peace to my soul. I love to learn about the creatures of the sea, Great Lakes, and our little ponds and streams. The life beneath the surface of the water is incredible.

I am so excited about the When Fashion and Nature Collide  August Edition (the link will take you to our July edition). You will see so many beautiful photos and art. This edition takes us to the Ocean on Wednesday, August 15th. In honor of our upcoming edition, I have created paper using vintage paper and drawings. The base is made of a ships cargo log and compass. There are octopus arms, whale, pink coral, and little fish. This is set as a  5 x 7 inch print, but can be resized. Click on the picture to save to your device. It looks great in an 8 x 10 frame. I just added it to my own nautical room. For personal use only.

I also want to share some news! Lismore Paper has gone THREADLESS! Take an adventure with me. I am taking my pen and ink doodles to t-shirts and accessories for Men, Women, and Children. At any time you can click on the Shop Lismore Paper link at the top or side bar for t-shirts, accessories, and digital paper. I will be adding more each week and if there is something you would like to see, please let me know 🙂

Much love and a happy Sunday!

  1. Vintage paper! Exciting, for sure. I take it sometimes it must be thinking and brittle. I’ve always loved work on parchment. By the way, I love the great detail of the hide of the whale. The fine lines are incredible. I wish I had that talent. And t-shirts???? Hmmmmm…. Hugs. -Alan

    1. Love vintage paper. It scans rather nice for a backer if it is too brittle. Working on parchment is so nice. It’s fun to create on different mediums especially with vintage stuff. What is your favorite medium? Always wanted to make tshirts, so I thought I would give it a try 😊💗 Hugs!

      1. Ha, just read my comment. Meant to type “thin” vs “thinking”.
I admire parchment work & photos on course canvas. I love seeing the threading through the photo. In fact, some I have seen look like oil painting, not photos. Watercolor paper done well is impressive to me. Often I am stumped on how controlled the watercolors can be when done with great detail. I must admit I do like acrilics and stone. I love the look and feel of the raised paint on the surface. It can look 3D to me.
I might get a t-shirt from you someday.

    2. My tablet is always changing my words, which is scary lol. All of those mediums are wonderful. You love the details. I enjoy seeing the woven pattern as well. Watercolor detail is beautiful especially when there is imperfections in the water. Stone and acrylics are definitely can look 3d which is so cool. Well thank you! I appreciate that. 😊🌞

  2. Good luck Lisa. I love the nautical paper design… And this month’s collaboration is so timely with all the news on oceans, warming seas, plastic pollution, die-offs and habitat degradation. ❤️
