Fall Treasures and Halloween Art

Halloween Paper White pumpkin Crow Butterfly 8 x 10 FrameOctober is just around the corner. Chilly air, colorful trees, sweater, boot, and scarves will be abundant. The harvest season is in full swing, mugs full of apple cider, orange and white pumpkins, cornstalks, farmers markets, and decorating. I am so inspired this time of year. The rich color palette are hues of the harvest.

One of my favorite pieces I created this year is now up in my shop. The white pumpkin is an original watercolor created by me. It was inspired by one of my favorite fall treasures. The poem “Night” is an ephemera find, the blackbird and butterfly were collected and touched up from vintage ads.

Here are a few more treasures that will most likely inspire more painting.

What is your favorite fall décor or tradition?

Much love and happy Autumn!

Lisa

  1. This is a great post, I love Halloween and it’s also my mums birthday, so we ended up coincidentally getting a black cat and Mum suits the “witch” title because of her wild crazy blonde curls, Mum makes our house go crazy for Halloween. I love pumpkin everything; paintings, candles, sweets, lattes and figurines so LOVE this post. Got me feeling very excited 😆 xx

  2. Fun Lisa — you’re really getting into Halloween! My favorite Halloween was when I was teaching. I’d bring in a BIG pumpkin on October first and we’d vote on a name for him. He’d be our class mascot all month and then on the 31st, we’d carve him up together and someone would take him home! Hope you are enjoying fall there Lisa! xox

    1. Rhonda, that sounds like such fun! I bet the one who was able to take him home was delighted to have the mascot for their very own. Fall is wonderful and I am enjoying. I hope you are as well! Happy Autumn! Hugs! 🎃🍁💟

  3. I’m finally getting in the mood for fall, too! (Love the “Poe” theme in the first few photos…) I spend most of September in denial that summer is ending, but by the time October rolls around, I’m finally ready for pumpkins, colorful leaves and apple pie. I just have to stay in denial about the fact that winter is the next season on it’s way…..

  4. I really like doing decorations inside and outside the house in Fall and for Halloween. This year I have not done much decorations because I’ve been sick as you know. But I will put a few pumpkins, autumn flowers and black cats around the house.
