Lets take a walk in the woods

I have been dreaming of exploration and inspiration. Our winter has a firm hold on us here in Michigan. My yard and gardens are adorned in a palette of white. The only green is held by the snowy pines. I have enjoyed seeing the gardens of others. It allows me to dream of spring. I know my gardens will eventually wake from their slumber and everything will come to life again.

I have been capturing a few pictures of the house plants for watercolor reference. Hoping to forge out some time to do some watercolor painting this week.

I posted ‘Lets take a walk in the woods’ on Instagram recently and wanted to share this watercolor quote here. Please feel free to use this 4 x 6 quote for personal use. I’d love to connect with you on Instagram.

I hope everyone has a beautiful and restful Sunday.

Much love and hugs,

Lisa

  1. So pretty. I love the snow. We actually got snow here in our city, it was crazy. Snow on cacti is such an unusual site. I unfortunately did not have a chance to get photos because those trails were closed. I did get several photos of the wildflowers popping up everywhere from all this weather. Wish I knew how to send a photo through a comment, the yellow and purple flowers look so beautiful together. I will try to post some photos later this month. I bet your paintings will be so beautiful have a happy Sunday just relaxing and doing art. I am on my way out now to paint some furniture.

  2. The pics are stunning. I know living where you are it’s easy to be so adjusted to the view that it can become unnoticeable. I’m glad you treasure it. One of the aspects of a walk in the woods of white is the hushed air. I love how the snow absorbs audio so well. I noticed you placed a green acorn and a brown one on the download. Smart art. Love your shutter. Hugs of warmth from here. -Alan

  3. Lovely photos Lisa. My brother and his wife have been living in Detroit for the past few years but have just moved to Boston. I’ve never been though as I’m not a keen flyer. The snow looks really pretty, we have hardly had any here but now that I’m in the Peak district I think I might have a shock one day so far as the snow goes.

  4. This weather is crazy! My dad lives in Alpena and he’s been keeping me updated on the cold and snow up there. We travel full-time in an RV and the motto among RVers is to “chase 70 degrees.” The problem this year is nobody can find it! I do hope the snow lays off soon so everyone can see some sunshine and spring can break through. Your artwork is very lovely. Dawn

      1. The thoughts are positive but still more snow is on the way. Looks like a mixed week of pain and hopefully it won’t be too bad. Thank you Lisa, enjoy your weekend. ❤️
