When Fashion and Nature Collide – It’s a Dandy

Background picture by 3CStyle and ArtyPlantsman. Word and watercolor by Lismore Paper

It truly is a dandy! Dandelions are bright like the beautiful June sun. Some see a weed, but I see spring bee food, herbal remedy, food and drink, and wishes! I see nature’s pop up garden, art, and a magic created by friendship. Creative vision which makes me feel more connected to those I love and admire. Simple things that change our lives in huge ways and taps into the soul just by being mindfully present.

Welcome to our June edition of When Fashion and Nature Collide. On the third Wednesday of each month, we will post a new collaborative edition. You will see art, beautiful fashion and accessories styled by Dominique from 3C Style, botanicals, critters, and beautiful art by Darren from the Arty Plantsman, and botanicals, critters and art from me Lisa@Lismore Paper. Be sure to check out each blog for the full edition. This month offers AMAZING foodie creation, art, and fashion! Check out our shop for the original fashion and accessories from all of our editions.

I wish I were able to make the trip to visit and create with Darren and Dominique in late May. Together they created pure magic with their collaborative styling and photography. Be sure to visit their posts for a real nature’s treat. A big thank you to both Darren and Dominique for making me feel like I was right there with them.

It was easy for me to find inspiration to create this dandelion wine watercolor set on an old invoice after seeing the work of Darren and Dominique. From the DIY handbag, the gorgeous outfit, and the dandelion wine photograph that captured my heart as soon as I set eyes on it. It was funny, when they were putting together the dandelion wine photograph, I was taking the dandelion and bee photograph. I like to think we were aligned in the moment.

Let’s Get Crafty! The craft beer, the show stopping staircase, Dominique’s style and Darren’s photography really made this a beautifully designed set. Creating small doodles based from a vintage drawing of hops and barley made the logo come together with the stars and type. Get Crafty home brew t-shirts and products are available now in our shop, Fashioned By Nature.

I could not resist the spark this apple blossom shoot by Darren and Dominique created. The food and drink style and photography is truly foodie magic. Then paired with flowers, and Dominique…it could not be better. Using a base of the same paper as the dandelion, an apple blossom was extracted and restored from an early 1800’s illustration along with an old magazine cover that was recolored, it made this paper come to life. You know me…I could not resist adding the bee.

Be sure to visit both Darren and Dominique for the full edition of this post. We will be taking a vacation in July, but will be back with another great edition on August 21st. Until then you can enjoy past editions here

Much love and hugs,

Lisa

  3. I smiled when I saw the antique invoice you used. Looks so good. The wine glass is my favorite. From the bass, to the stem, and the brilliant color. You guys are a great team. Your creative finger prints are all over this. Hugs mucho. -Alan

  4. I think you were definitely aligned Lisa despite you not being there with Darren and Dominique in person. Your artwork is so beautiful and adds a magical touch. That dandelion and the wine glass is the epitome of happiness to me. Beautiful creative effort by all of you.

  5. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us! I also love how you love bees! I was able to help a beekeeper friend of mine this past week. Another friend had shared on Facebook that they needed someone to deal with a swarm of bees on their place. I connected the two and now my beekeeping friend has a new colony! She is thinking of putting the new hive by us and I am really excited about that idea.

  7. I’m so sad that you could not go to Montreal 😔 I was imagining the three if you pouring over pictures and drawings, while I was out climbing! The images made me happy, as did not falling to my death 😂 (although my son had a scary fall that I did not blog about!)
Next year we should all get there, one way or another!!😁

    1. Me, too! We will make it happen though. It will be fun to plan the next trip and I hope both you and Linda can come. I am happy you didn’t fall! Is he ok? As a mom you have to be holding your breath a lot. It’s a dangerous sport but I totally see why you do it. Take care! Sending lots of love and hugs to you and your family!

      1. He is fine, I caught him as a giant boulder fell off the route (the one he was using for leverage 😳) You never really know when that can happen. The huge rock fell over 100 feet down and, thank god, no one was below when it happened.
The mom in me was shaken, definitely, as he could have had some serious injuries from that. And this is about a month after my daughter had to have staples in the back of her head from a freak accident when I caught her too!
If I think too much about either of those events, I really get upset. They have told me that they both get nervous when I am climbing too, so it goes both ways 🤣

      2. Mom is always there to catch you 😊 I am so glad nobody was below and especially happy he didn’t follow the rock down. It was pretty scary about your daughter, too. Rock climbing is serious stuff. I bet they are holding their breath too! I worked in rescue for many years and am always holding my breath! Be safe my friend but have fun! I enjoy reading your adventures.
