Even though winter seems to be lingering a bit too long in my neck of the woods. Hint-hint Mother Nature it’s spring. We are expected 3-5 inches of that dreadful white here today. To keep myself in a green state of mind, I have been working on a few fun designs for spring.
There are so many beautiful pollinators and designing images is my way to spread the word about these amazing little chemists. The more I learn about birds, bees, butterflies, beetles, and other small mammals that pollinate plants my mind goes to spreading the word and the conversations we can have. They are responsible for bringing us one out of every three bites of food.
Finding a platform to share these designs has been an eye opener. Like most of us using different platforms to share our passions, it is a bit of a try here and there to see what best fits us at the time. I hope to add invitations and all of my paper creations to this, I really love that they offer a ton of paper products. I will still offer free graphics and printables on the blog, but Its always fun to take a new path and see what adventure you can stir up. Check out my new adventure with the Pollinators.

So while I am on a roll π I have to mention on Wednesday the next edition of When Fashion and Nature Collide will be published. It’s so fun when you can be creative with your friends! We will add new designs to our shop Fashioned By Nature. Hope you will stop by and check us out.

I hope you have a beautiful and creative Sunday!
Much love,
Lisa

Some bats are also pollinators. They visit yucca flowers and cactus flowers at night and as they move from flower to flower sipping nectar, pollen sticks to them and is distributed from flower to flower. They aren’t as well known for pollinating like bees and butterflies, and hummingbirds, mainly because they feed at night. Maybe do a design with a bat visiting a yucca flower or a prickly pear cactus flower? Just saying! Your pollinator design is VERY NICE!!!!!!!

No surprise that your talent brings a smile. I’ve learned to trust what my eyes catch first before studying things up close. You’ve done this before, but I really like the black background as it showcases the colors in eye-popping fashion. That cover pic is marvelous. How ’bout that coffee mug with the black handle? Love it! Adventure on, our dear Lisa. Hugs and love from a warmer place. – Alan

I am a sucker for bright colors on a black background. Doubly so when it involves nature. Triple-y so when it involves the birds and the bees. Because of pollination! I know where your mind was going. π You ticked all of the boxes on this one, my dear!

Love the pollinators mug. Every gardener should have one to drink out of for the whole time there is snow on the ground.

This is a terrific design Lisa, wonderfully crisp with brilliant colouration and depth, l like this a lot and love the message – anything that promotes conservation and the wonders of our pollinators is always a win win, this line was a really nice touch π
They are responsible for bringing us one out of every three bites of food.
This is so, so, so, so and so true, it’s a pity a lot of people simply don’t understand the simplicity of that statement.

Thank you, Rory!! I love to spread the word about these amazing little critters. They really give us so much and deserve our respect. It is a pity some dont understand. Cant even begin to imagine how terrible it would be if we didnt have them. ππ

It would be the main start to a serious decline in the human race. Sure we could clone, and if we are to believe a fraction of the sci-fi we see regarding the future, there are no bees – so what are they doing about food?
But this leads to a much deeper problem Lisa, and one l feel sure you have probably thought about if not already examined … our populations are increasing and placing hude demands on a dwindling pollinator force, our oceans are becoming cluttered by humankind waste, with seriously poor management in place, we are poisoning all of our food sources, exterminating everything we touch – l don’t know what the future is of our planet, all l do know is we have laid barren what was once beautiful through greed and profit chasing.

Well said! You are right. There is a huge demand on our pollinators and what we are doing to our oceans is disturbing. If everyone did their part it would really make an impact. Thank you for this comment π

Reblogged this on A Guy Called Bloke and K9 Doodlepip! and commented:
Another truly terrific post from Lisa and a beautifully simply expressed but deeply powerful line that more people need to address, absorb and allow to sink in to really understand the problems of our world, the conservation problems to boot and more importantly the absolute must need for our pollinators to be secured is this …. They are responsible for bringing us one out of every three bites of food.

It is indeed a great design and I can see it on many cool products too. For example, I saw that Zazzle makes buttons. You should have this design on buttons. It would look beautiful on a beige or yellow trench.
